MTC Optics Joins Whitetails Unlimited National Sponsors

“MTC Optics has joined Whitetails Unlimited as a National sponsor,” said WTU President Jeff Schinkten, “and out members will be excited to see the outstanding scopes they offer hunters and shooters. MTC scopes cover the entire range for hunters, from small game to as big game as a hunter wants to go. And for shooters that spend more time on the range than in a tree stand, they offer a revolutionary rangefinder that makes calculating a point of impact a breeze.”

MTC optics are designed in the United Kingdom, and offer innovative designs and reticles to fit any shooting application. Their new MTC PRO series has features such as a 3:1 micro gearbox in the turret, magnetic flip-up covers, a magnifying turret lens, side parallax adjustment, a 3 – 18 X range (6X), and illuminated reticle. The new MTC Rapier Ballistic laser rangefinder works to 1,000 meters, and when coupled with the IOS or Android app it will calculate points of impact and transmit the corrections via a wireless earpiece to the shooter.

Greetings MTC Fans!

It has been awhile since I last updated the website with current happenings, and I apologize for the delay.

Of course, everyone understands that there is a very busy show season, and we attend as many shows as is practical, and it basically is all hands on deck during the months of January, February and even into March.

This year, we were represented at the ATA (Archery Trade Association), SHOT (Shooting Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show) NABA (National Archery Buyers Association) and finally IWA which is held in Germany.

Your first question may be, “why do you attend Archery Shows?” well, the answer is quite simple, while we do not yet provide optics designed for crossbows, we do however have one of the most cutting edge rangefinders available, and it is completely appropriate for millions of archers across the US, as well as anyone who is wanting a sophisticated and appropriately priced unit to help in the field.

If you are not familiar with the Rapier Rangefinder, please visit our website and check it out. You can also find a very helpful instructional video by Tom Adams of Tomcat Airguns on his YouTube channel.

Since the show season has finally ended, I have been traveling around parts of the country looking to develop new dealer business, and also grow dealers who have been purchasing our products, but may not have been familiar with everything that MTC has to offer. I am pleased to say that we have been able to more than double our dealer base in just a couple of months since the shows have come to a close. My goal over the next eight months is to bring our dealer-base to somewhere between 50 and 100 new dealers to be listed on our website. Certainly it is desirable for customers to visit a local retailer and get an opportunity to actually handle and look through any given optic before making a purchase.

That is my biggest goal for the rest of this year. So, if you have a favorite gun shop or other retailer that you would like to see our product carried in, please ask them to reach out to me. Or, if you send me an email, I certainly will touch base with them, and get information into their hands as quickly as practical. I can be reached at or through the toll free number which is: 888-682-8721. The toll free number is automatically transferred to my mobile phone. If I would happen to not answer, it simply means that I am in a meeting, so please leave a message with your return number, and I will get to you as quickly as possible.

Just this past weekend, I attended the “Toys That Shoot” show that is held in Findlay, Ohio (Findlay is also known as Flag City USA). This particular show was very interesting to me, and it drew hundreds of people from around the Midwest to purchase and chat with other collectors and various vendors of not only current products but antique airguns from a different era. All in all a very friendly and welcoming crowd. I was able to meet many new people and potential dealers as well as several current dealers whom I had not yet met.

There you have it for this edition everyone! Thanks for reading, and please feel free to reach out to me anytime at the email and toll free number given above.

2018 SHOT Show Synopsis

Greetings MTC Fans,

I wanted to write a quick synopsis of how the 40th Annual SHOT Show went for us last week. We had a 10 x 10 booth under the British Pavilion, and I must say that we had steady traffic and high interest from many new potential customers not only from the US, but also from around the world.

By my count, we had right at 30 new potential dealers visit the booth and go through our product families and ask to get together again to put together opening orders. This is quite exciting, as at present MTC Optics America has just 8 dealers here in the US. We are going to make a push to add hopefully another 50 dealers during the course of 2018. If any of you reading this know of a potential dealer, or someone who you think I should reach out to, please have them contact me directly, or send me their contact info, and I will certainly do so.

If I were to highlight the products that received the most “Buzz” while we were at the show, it would have to be the Viper Pro’s, the Viper Connect’s were also well received. Our MTC Genesis is a hit with those who took the time to check it out. Finally, we had on display a prototype of the new First Focal Plane scope which is going to be called the Cobra. This 4 – 16 x 50 scope was very well received by those who looked through it. One thing I particularly liked about this scope chassis is that the reticle is very fine, and when you zoom up to the higher power, it does not overwhelm the target, and cover it up.

We are expecting this scope to be available here in the US in the spring.

Finally, the Rapier Rangefinder absolutely was a hit. I even had two different SWAT Teams visit our booth specifically to experience this incredible piece of equipment. If you have not checked this out, do visit our website and read up on the features. This rangefinder can be linked to a Bluetooth earpiece through a free smartphone APP and it literally speaks into your ear with the correct hold, or adjustments, depending on how you set it up. Absolutely amazing unit.

There you have it for now everyone. Again, if you know of a potential dealer, please give them my information, or let me know who they are, and I will reach out to them directly.

Thanks for reading!

New Scope Lines Announced!

MTC launched 4 new rifle scopes at the Royal Greenwich Observatory, the location of Britain’s first refracting telescope and literally the center of the Worlds time, to send the message: its ‘Time for MTC’

MTC MambaLite

The original MambaLite was developed by MTC optics in cooperation with Optisan and was made until 2014. The MambaLite soon became a jewel in the range and was to become especially popular with airgun shooters, though firearm shooter worldwide soon came to appreciate its light weight and bright optics. Although new MambaLite is a completely new design and no longer produced by Optisan, it builds on the original concept by bringing the design up to date with the addition of the latest lenses SCB2 reticle and the feature most commented on as missing from the original scope a brightness adjustable illuminated reticle.

MTC Viper Pro Tactical

When MTC launched the MTC Viper Pro in 2016 the ‘scope was fitted with a sophisticated ‘smart’ top turret. While this remains a fantastic feature for some, it was unnecessary for others, the addition of a more normal tactical turret give an option to shooters who wish to enjoy the Viper Pro but do not need or want the 3-1 smart turret. Of course the turret is actually far from normal and has been developed for ease of use and can be effectively locked in an instant.

MTC Mamba Pro 2

An option at launch on the Viper pro was the parallel Mamba Pro which is the same sight but with low profile windage and elevation turrets. The Mamba Pro2 improves the existing scope with the two asked-for updates of finger-clickable windage and elevation turrets as well as a less reflective matt finish.

MTC Viper Pro 10×44

Last year MTC announced the Viper Pro 3-18 and 5-30 x50 which featured a ‘Smart’ range turret and we are showing that scope here. The turret is cleverly geared to make up to 3 rotations of the turret relate to a single rotation of a customisable range display window. The scope contains all the features you would expect of such a top end high quality scope features such as reticle illumination and side parallax adjustment. The model range has now been extended to feature a fixed 10 power version that compliments the existing scopes. All of the pro-range feature high quality multi coated lenses that and have been selected for optical clarity, true colour transfer and to be compatible with many of the latest digital night systems.

Keynote from the Time for MTC event at the Queens House Greenwich

With the addition of four more scopes, MTC’s product line is now 15 models, and the UK only Optisan range adds another 7 – including two with a first focal plane reticle. The company has arrived at the start of a new journey and its Time for MTC.
The Greenwich event looked back as well as forward in time being held on the historic site of the Royal Greenwich Observatory and the Greenwich meridian, a line where east meets west. Established in 1851 to be the very centre line of the world’s time. It is in many ways the place where ‘time’ began and was a fitting venue to display the very latest from MTC optics. All current MTC telescopic sight ‘look back’ to the invention of the ‘Galileo’ refracting telescope in 1608. Just up the hill in the adjacent royal observatory sits one of the country’s largest refracting telescopes; the great equatorial telescope that was completed in 1893. MTC’s range of rifle scopes cover every sort of rifle shooting, with a scope suitable for almost every type of rifle. With unique technical innovation, the designs are intended to be away from the mainstream and populist designs available elsewhere.
All MTC’s own brand scopes are now designed in the UK while manufacturing takes place in China. For the Viper and Mamba series of scopes launched in Greenwich, MTC’s production facility was Initially chosen for their expertise in highly competitive binocular production that was needed to produce the Viper Connect, but the relationship and respect has grown over the last 7 years to the point where a rifle scope division has been created to supply MTC its exclusively designed rifle telescopes.

Small Calibre Ballistic (2) reticle

The original SCB reticle was launched in 2005 with the introduction of the first Viper model and was an instant success, however it soon became clear it had some limitations when used on higher power rifles that needed more reference points for the greater projectile drop that was a feature in some calibres as it was possible to ‘run out’ of aiming points. The SCB 2 addresses this issue as well as adding other refinements and improvements.
